You are a soul with a physical body. You always have been, and you will always will be. Your soul, or energy, is the real you. It is both the wisdom from past lifetimes that you brought with you to planet earth, as well as the wisdom from your experiences in this lifetime, that are a part of you. Your energy, the real you, is all you will take with you when you leave planet earth.

The reason you have a physical body is to anchor yourself to the earth. If you did not have that anchor, you would float back out into the universe. You came to planet earth to grow spiritually in a school where souls from all levels of consciousness come to work and grow together. You can come back again in many lifetimes until you master all there is to learn here.

When you decided to come to planet earth, you made a spiritual contract with someone to help you build a physical body. You chose your parents by selecting those who you felt could give you the best environment for the experiences you would need during your first seven years. Usually you knew one or both parents in a past life and, for that reason, may feel closer to one than the other.
