Our life has both an internal and an external dimension.
The external part of our lives is our culture, family, religion, job, social class – all the social roles we play.
The internal aspect is what meaning this participation has for us.
It is our goals, inner feelings, values, aspirations and how we feel about ourselves and our lives each and every day.
An important part of our internal self is how we feel about ourselves in relation to others.
Our internal aspect of life involves our perception of time. Do we feel life is passing us by or are we really enjoying each moment and living our lives to the fullest?
The inner seeking that we feel has to do with our sense of aliveness or stagnation in life.

“What is time? The shadow on the dial, the striking of the clock, the running of the sand, day and night, summer and winter, months, years, centuries – these are but the arbitrary and outward signs – the measure of time, not time itself. Time is the life of the soul.”
