Policies and Procedures.
What are policies and procedures? Well, to answer that question I’ll have to answer another one. Do I consider my life a business? That is, do I plan my future? Am I careful about how I invest my assets? Am I concerned about receiving a profit on my investments? Am I planning for my retirement?
These are basic business questions that anyone interested in starting a business needs to answer. So, in this light, I am a business. Any business, in order to stay in business, needs to promote itself as a believable, trustworthy, reliable institution. In order to be successful in whatever venture I decide for my life,
- I need to know what I stand for,
- what I want,
- how I am going to achieve it
- why I am doing it.
What I stand for are my policies. This is what I value in my life. My policies are what makes my life worthwhile. It is important to know that what I think are my policies actually ARE my policies, not Mama’s or Papa’s.
The reason for this is because my policies support my thrust, my spiritual purpose for being here. I want to live my life for myself, not to please mama or papa. Which is what I learned to do and had to do as a child.
What I want is obvious, it is what makes me happy.
How I am going to achieve it is my procedures. Again, these reflect what I learned as a child, unconsciously – just by watching Mama and Papa. That’s how I learned to do things.
Why I am doing it is my spiritual thrust. It is the reason I am here.
