Feelings are the impressions we receive: from the universe, from guidance and from other souls (with bodies or without bodies). Emotions are what we have been taught to feel. They are like the language we learned as children. They are our programmed reactions to outside events.

Spiritual Pilgrim

Write down any impressions.

Reading

Feelings are impressions based on your sensitivity which come through your first gift of perception. It can be an inner knowing, a picture, an idea or a sensation. The clarity depends on how relaxed you are; hence the importance of cleansing. Feelings relate more to your direction and timing, such as: “Yes, that’s a good idea, But I don’t have a feeling for it right now. Maybe next week.”

Emotions, however, are reactions to circumstances, people or events. Negative emotions, such as anger or fear, can shake you from your purpose, your plan and leave you feeling a little lost. Positive emotions such as love or compassion can spur you to be more of service.

Complications arise because many things we experience can be either a feeling or an emotion, sometimes they are both, but with different interpretations. Love is a feeling when it comes from within and inspires you to act but it is an emotion when it’s a reaction to someone else’s actions, for example, you get taken out for dinner and you feel loved and appreciated.

When you do something you feel love for, the fulfillment is in the doing.

When you need someone to do something for you to feel loved, that is an emotion.
